With the coveted title of Miss Asia Pacific International 2018 under her belt, Sharifa Akeel has already made a name for herself in pageantry. With great power, Sharifa Akeel’s reign also came with great responsibility which she fulfilled with sincerity and dedication. After crowning Chaiyenne Huisman of Spain as her successor at Miss Asia Pacific International 2019, Sharifa is now free to extend her career in the pageantry.

The stunning 22-year-old beauty is an ideal choice to enter the first edition of Miss Universe Philippines as the organization has left the wing of Binibining Pilipinas. A Filipina model, Sharifa has shown her potential and capability already with her successful reign. A question that might arise is that why Sharifa needs to give pageantry another go when she successfully holds an international title can be answered easily as well. Miss Universe is not just one of the oldest but also the most coveted title in the whole world and known for breaking barriers. Therefore, the preliminary to Miss Universe is where Sharifa needs to put her next mark.

Born is Lebak, Sultan Kudarat, Sharifa has mixed heritage of Qatari and Filipino. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the Notre Dame of Salaman College and is currently working as Human Relations Officer at the Congressional office of the Province of Sultan Kudarat. Her pageant career is also not too expanded and given her young age, Sharifa will definitely go places with her beauty and grace.

Sharifa began with 2018 Reyna ng Aliwan where she represented the Kalimudan festival of Sultan Kudarat where she remained unplaced. She was then crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas 2018 on 16th September 2018 in Pasay City. After that, she went on to represent Philippines in Miss Asia Pacific International 2018 where she became the fifth Filipina to win the crown.

Her life story is something out of an Opera where she has struggled a lot to achieve her dreams and stand at a pedestal where she is today. Never giving up and facing all her obstacles with grim determination and hard work, Sharifa has become an ideal example for people her age to work hard and never settle for less. She already has and can inspire people all around the globe with her life story and Miss Universe is surely the perfect stage for her.
