Tamara Jemuovic, 22 years of age and 5’9”tall from Toronto, Ontario won the Miss Earth Canada 2016 title at the end of the scintillating crowning ceremony held on August 19’ 2016 at the La Plaza Salles de Reception in Montréal, Canada. Tamara will now compete at the Miss Earth 2016 pageant which will be held on October 29’ 2016.

Tamara Jemuovic also won the Best in Swimwear and Tosca Style Award. She was crowned by the outgoing queen Tatiana Maranhao of Leamington.

Tamara Jemuovic graduated from University and studied a major in Equity Studies, and a double minor in Women&Gender Studies and Environmental Studies. She recently finished graduate school at the University of Hawai`i where she studied Public Administration with a specialty in Non-Profit Management.

Tamara is a hardworking, philanthropic, well-rounded woman; with a passion for making a difference in the lives of people and animals in need.

She is fluent in both English and Serbian, has been taking French for 11 years, and is currently learning Spanish. Tamara's love for language has pushed her to travel the world where she has been a witness of difficult circumstances that have taught her to value the basic necessities in life.

She was on full scholarship during her freshman year in University as a result of her accomplishments in reaching high academic standards and an outstanding volunteering reputation. With over 1,000 hours dedicated to community service, Tamara has volunteered for the Toronto District School Board’s international languages program as well as a variety of charities which include putting on fundraisers of her own to benefit others in need.

One of the most unusual things that Tamara has ever done was dressing up as Katy Perry for Halloween and many people actually thought she was Katy and wanted to take pictures all night because of the resemblance!

Tamara’s most memorable moment was winning the title of Miss Earth Canada 2016. The reason being, she finally created a voice and a platform for herself where she can talk about environmental issues in the world.

She thinks holding a title serves as a megaphone to the world because of all of the attention that is attached to it. With the proper key messages of awareness, we can make a difference in the world and begin to create a more sustainable and efficient environment for the future.

Tamara truly believes that the mindset of Aboriginal People is something that as a Canadian she is proud of and she would like to promote it to the rest of the world as a learning tool.

The gorgeous lady has worked as a Brand Ambassador for many years and has enjoyed interacting with others. She’s a quick learner and is able to adapt to different and difficult situations with grace, class and poise.

Learning about different cultures is her favorite thing to do and she loves meeting new people who share the same interests in protecting the environment and mother Earth.
