Vian Sulaimani, who was crowned as Miss Iraq 2017 earlier this year, has been dethroned from the title now. So, Vian will no longer be competing at the Miss World/ Miss Universe 2017 pageant. The official reason stated behind her dethronement is the breach of the agreement of Miss Iraq. According to the official Miss Iraq Organisation, Vian Sulaimani was married.

23-year-old old Kurdish beauty Vian works at an insurance investment company in Baghdad. She was apparently the second woman to be crowned Miss Iraq, since 1972. The last time that Iraq competed in one of four biggest pageants was in Miss Universe 1972 with Wijdan Burham El-Deen Sulyman.

After Vian’s dethronement, the first runner-up of Miss Iraq 2017 Masty Hama has been appointed as the new queen. Masty will now represent the country in the international pageants of Miss World and Miss Universe.

Last year, Shaymaa Qasim was given the opportunity by Miss Universe Org. to represent Iraq in the 65th edition of the pageant. However, her participation was withdrawn due to a fallout between her and the organizers & Ministry of Culture, which supervises the event.
