In an unfortunate turn of events, Vickie Marie Rushton has withdrawn her participation from Binibining Pilipinas 2020. This ends the beauty queen’s journey in the pageantry as she turns 29 this May.
Vickie’s goal was to represent Philippines at Miss International this year but Stephanie Diaz, the director, affirmed the age limit of 18 to 28 years old for their pageant.
While a lot of people are sad with the news, pageant fanatics also understand that there is so much more she could be doing with her life that would bring her growth both professionally and personally rather than to continue having her time wasted for something that just simply won’t work out at the end of it all.
Vickie is definitely a Miss International everyone wanted but will never have. Vickie a Filipino-British actress, television presenter, and model. She pursued her education in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Saint La Salle in Bacolod and graduated in 2013. At an early age, she was weighed down by the familial responsibilities, which is why she participated in various pageants to be able to earn money as she was the breadwinner in her household.
She is not new to the pageantry as she has represented Talisay in the Lin-ay sang Negros 2009 pageant and won the title. In 2011, Vickie went on to win her first national crown Mutya ng Pilipians 2011. Rushton was supposed to represent the Philippines in the Miss Intercontinental 2011 pageant in Alicante, Spain. However, because of the delayed schedule of the local pageant, she could not fulfil that dream. Seven years later, Rushton came back to the pageant scene where she participated in Binibining Pilipinas 2018 and with her incredible performance, she placed as the first runner-up. Upon, joining the Binibining Pilipinas 2019, she was considered as an early favorite to win the competition but finished at Top 15.
We wish her best of luck for her future endeavours!
