Miss Latvia 2016 was held on July 23’ 2016. Linda Kinca was crowned as the new beauty queen of Latvia. The outgoing Miss Latvia Lasma Zemene passed on her crown and her reign to the Miss Latvia 2016 at the conclusion of the pageant. The winner represented Latvia at the Miss World 2016 pageant.
Miss Latvia is an annual national beauty pageant that selects representatives for the Miss World beauty pageant. The Miss and Mr. Latvia Organisation was founded in 2015 by sisters Julija Djadenko-Müggler (Miss World University 2004) and Kristina Djadenko (Miss Latvia 2005). It is the successor to the "Mis Latvija" organisation which was founded by Ms. Inta Fogele.
The 18 years old beauty queen clinched the coveted crown of Miss Latvia 2016 after defeating 8 other finalists. A total number of 8 Latvian beauty participated at the pageant who were judged on national costume, swimsuit parade, as well as the evening dresses and suits. Linda Kinca emerged as the best among them. At the same pageant, Kintija Krastina was adjudged as the 1st runner up of Miss Latvia while Anna Britikova was titled as Miss Sympathy.
