Sabrina Lewis, representing Berkeley, was crowned Miss California 2023 on Saturday, 1st July 2023 at the Visalia Convention Center in Downtown Visalia, California. Sabrina will represent California at Miss America 2024.

Sabrina Lewis is 26 years of age and an equestrian and an alumna of the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley). Lewis succeeds and was crowned by Miss California 2022 Catherine Liang. Not a stranger to pageantry, Lewis previously held the title Miss California USA and went to compete in the Miss USA 2021 pageant in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

On winning the state crown, Sabrina took to her official social media as she wrote, “Can’t believe that I'm the first African-American woman crowned Miss California in the past 25 years. What we do is not easy, and I commend each and every one of you on all your accomplishments."

Also at the finale, Asha Bhattacharya of Anaheim Hills, Taylor Yamane of Riverside City, Mahika Valluri of Northern California, and Katie Tessier of Los Angeles County were adjudged as the first, second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively.

Along with Sabrina, San Deigo's Marlie Wright was crowned Miss California Teen 2023 and will now proceed to Miss America's Teen 2024. Her runners-up included Arushi Somani of Canyon Hills, Siena Lester of Anaheim Hills, Delilah Sichmeller of Riverside City, and Ruth Alvarenga of Marin County.
