Nepal’s performance at Miss World

Miss World, one of the oldest and the most coveted pageants, has seen remarkable performances from delegates all over the world since its establishment in 1951. Nepal entered Miss World in 1997 and since then the country has sent a delegate to Miss World every year. In the last decade, Nepal has shown such a great leap in terms of great performances, placements and beautiful divas representing the country with pride.

In the last few years, especially since 2012, Nepal has marked an imminent spot in the coveted Miss World pageant. The Miss Nepal organization has, year after year, crowned beauties of substance, essence and intelligence to represent the country at Miss World pageant. Primarily, in the last four years, Nepal has been doing quite well at the pageant.

In 2017, Nikita Chandak represented Nepal in Miss World 2017. Even though she failed to win the crown, she won numerous placements in the competition. She was the winner of the Head-to-Head Challenge and won a spot in Top 30 automatically. She was also one of the ten finalists for Beauty with a Purpose award, stood third in the Multimedia competition and was a part of Top 30 for the Top Model Competition. Nikita also placed in the Top 30 for the People’s Choice award and overall won the 31st position in Miss World 2017.

 

Nepal’s performance at Miss World

 

In 2018, Nepal was represented by Shrinkhala Khatiwada who was the audience’s favourite in Miss World 2018. The Nepali beauty mesmerized everyone with her beauty and empathy. She won the coveted Beauty with a Purpose award, which is the most important segment of the pageant. She then also won the Multimedia award proving how much she is loved by everyone. Shrinkhala also placed in Top 32 at Top Model Competition and won the third place in Tourism Video. Finally, she placed in the Top 12 at the competition.

 

Nepal’s performance at Miss World

 

In 2019, Anushka Shrestha represented Nepal at Miss World and took her place in Top 40 by winning the Head-to-Head Challenge. She also won two of the most important fast track events as she won Multimedia Award and Beauty with a Purpose award. She followed in the footsteps of her predecessor Shrinkhala Khatiwada who had similar success at Miss World in 2018.

Namrata Shrestha represented Nepal at the 70th Miss World and with her stellar performance, Namrata placed in the Top 40 with her stellar performance. She also placed in the Top 10 at the Beauty with a Purpose Challenge and the Multimedia Challenge.

For the 71st edition of Miss World, Priyanka Rani Joshi represented Nepal in India on 9th March 2024 in Mumbai, India where she placed in the Top 40 at the finals. She also placed in the Top 25 at Head to Head Challenge, Top 32 at Sports Challenge, Continental Winner (Asia) for Beauty with a Purpose award.
