Miss USA 2017 Kara McCullough maneuvers her title to promote STEM learning

Kara McCullough, the 26-year-old physical scientist from Washington D.C. was crowned Miss USA 2017 on 14th May 2017 making it a consecutive two year win for Washington in Miss USA. As a physical scientist and an advocator of Youth STEM Program, Kara has been working non-stop for the betterment of young kids through the STEM Learning.

A few hours ago, she posted a picture on her official Instagram account asking her followers to donate a small amount for supporting small children and high school students in STEM learning nationwide.

With a caption encouraging everyone to participate in the upcoming event, Kara also posted a picture titled ‘Take Flight with SE4K and Miss USA Kara McCullough’ to support the cause and be a part of the Periodic Table of Givers on Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on 24th March 2018.

On 6th December 2017, Kara was given the honour of presenting an award during the Breakthrough Prize Ceremony that aired on National Geographic. The Breakthrough Prize aims to celebrate the best of scientific works and inspire the next generation of scientists to perform and excel in their professional field. Looking elegant and classy in a black off-shoulder gown, she presented the award to Joanne Cory for her contribution in plants genetic research alongside Instagram Co-Founder Kevin Systrom.

As Miss USA 2017 and a Youth STEM Advocate, Kara has utilized the benefits of her position exceedingly well to spread awareness about the importance of STEM learning and mental growth amongst youth. Well, all we would like to say is - You go, girl!
