New Zealand is all set to return to Miss Universe stage as Franki Russell has been appointed Miss Universe New Zealand 2024 and will represent New Zealand at Miss Universe 2024 to be held in Mexico City.

Franki Russell is 29 years of age and an actress, model, social media influencer, and content creator by profession. The half-Kiwi, half-Filipina beauty is a recognized reality star and actress in the Philippines. Franki, through her platform, will address a prevalent concern among youth in New Zealand and worldwide - Cyberbullying.

The new reign will help her engage broader audiences and raise awareness about her passionate causes. “This is her official launch as the new Miss Universe New Zealand. After a four-year hiatus, Franki Russell will carry the torch of New Zealand to represent her culture at the 72nd Miss Universe in Mexico City”, the official statement read.

New Zealand is set to make a comeback at Miss Universe this year and its none other than Josh Yugen who will direct the organization under his leadership. The last time New Zealand competed at Miss Universe was in 2019 when Diamond Langi represented New Zealand but remained unplaced.

 

 

New Zealand holds one Miss Universe crown under its belt; Lorraine Downes won the crown in 1983 for New Zealand. The 73rd edition of Miss Universe is scheduled to be held later in the year in Mexico City where Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
