Jayathi De Silva crowned as Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2016

Jayathi De Silva has been crowned as Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2016 and will now represent Sri Lanka at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant. Jayathi succeeds Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2015 Avanti Marianne, and will now represent Sri Lanka at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant. Jayathi De Silva was the first runner-up at the Miss World Sri Lanka 2015 pageant.

19 years old Jayathi has completed her first degree and has a BSc in Molecule Biology and Forensic Science and an MSc in Cancer Biology. The beauty is also a part-time model and has been featured in Harper’s Bazaar India. Jayathi needs to work hard and groom herself if she needs to shine out at the international pageant.

The highest placement of Sri Lanka was in the year 1955 under the representation of Maureen Neliya Hingert. Since the 1955 achievement, the country has not been able to make any placement in the semi-finals of Miss Universe. Do you think Jayathi has what it takes to be the next Miss Universe?
