It seems Fijians loves her reigning Miss World Fiji Pooja Priyanka as they have started a one of a kind campaign to amass support for her.

They have been requesting others to support Miss World Fiji Pooja Priyanka, and help her create history by winning the sixty-sixth consecutive edition of Miss World slated to be held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, Washington D.C on December 18’ 2016 wherein reigning Miss World Mireia Lalaguna Royo of Spain will crown her successor at the end of the coronation night.

Miss World Fiji pageant director, Andhy Blake said as the Fijian beauty prepared for the world’s most awaited show  - the contest’s Multimedia Category which was judged on the level of interaction and likes she got on her official Facebook page — Miss World Fiji would play an integral part in increasing her chances of being placed in the top 10 spot of the category.

"Multimedia Category is one of the fast-track categories at Miss World," Mr Blake stated

"The multimedia award highlights our preparations to the Miss World crown. So it's everything we do in terms of our journey, preparations and anything that we prepare for towards the pageant."

The director called on every Fijian to get behind Ms Priyanka and support her on her journey to the pageant.

Pooja Priyanka, 24, who is of Fiji-Indian descent, was born in Lautoka and moved to Sydney at the age of 10. Both her parents are of Fiji-Indian descent.

"I am Fijian at heart, but I call Australia home," she stated. "Sydney is where I was raised and where home is. But I feel Fijian at the core of me. Fiji is where I belong."

Priyanka started training in Indian classical dance at the age of seven, but her entrance into modelling came through a photography project at university.

Priyanka is not new to the world of modeling as she has taken part in several local and a few international modeling contests before. Miss World will be her biggest contest yet, as well as her most philanthropic with the pageant’s affiliated charity, Beauty with a Purpose.
