The 27 official candidates of Miss World Philippines 2015 pageant were formally introduced to the press at the Solaire Resort and Casino in Pasay City on Tuesday, September 29, 2015.
Here are the names of 27 candidates for this year’s Miss World Philippines: Ma Vanessa Wright, Jannie Loudette Alipo-on, Danica Macabangon, Shiela Mae Torino, Christelle Abello, Janelle Tee, Ma Jackielyn Dulay, Kiarangiel Gregorio, Mona Mahmound Hammad, Tweena Pagulayan, Alexie Marie Ibabao, Emma Mary Tiglao, Avonlea Paraiso, Marita Cassandra Naidas, Erica Mari De Castro, Erica Rose Bayani, Jessica Rose McEwen, Leitz Camyll Ang, Diana Pinto, Mariah Nilo, Mia Allyson Howell, Vianca Louise Marcelo, Janette Roanne Sturm, Jeddahliz Maltezo, Casey Anne Austria, Grapes Pacara, Hillarie Danielle Parungao.
“We are continuously and intensely focused on the Miss World crown, especially after Megan Young gave the Philippines its first victory in 2013,” said Cory Quirino, Miss World Philippines national director.
She further says “This batch, they’re ready for the competition, this batch is a representative of the Filipina from north to south, literally.”
The Miss World Philippines 2015 finale night will take place on October 18 at the Theatre in Solaire Resorts and Casino and will be televised live on GMA (Global Media Arts) Network.
However, prior to the finals, the candidates will be engaged in pre-pageant activities. The official swimsuit segment of Miss World Philippines will be shot in Ilocos Sur from October 6 to 8. The sports challenge titled “Race to Greatness – Guro to Pangulo” will be held on October 10 at the Quirino Grandstand in commemoration of former president Elpidio Quirino’s one-hundred-twenty-fifth anniversary. And the Fashion Runway Challenge will be held at the Gala Charity Night on October 12 at the New Fiesta Pavillion of the Manila Hotel.
The winners of Miss World Philippines 2015 will succeed last year’s titleholder, Valerie Weigmann, and will represent the country in the Miss World 2015 pageant, to be held in Sanya, China.
The candidates of Miss World Philippines 2015 pageant will be mentored by former Miss World Philippines titleholders: Miss World Philippines 2011 first runner-up Gwendoline Ruais, Miss World Philippines 2014 Valerie Weigmann and Miss World 2013 Megan Young.
