The Miss Diva Universe 2015 pageant will be shown on TV channel Romedy Now in 9 episodes as a series, instead of one final contest, to show the entire process of sub-contests and screening of participants and showcase the transparency in the final round.
The initiating episode opens with the introduction of 16 contestants, and from the selection to the training, competition and finally the crowning, all will be shown throughout the show. Each episode will focus on the girls facing innovative challenges set by celebrity juries, ending in elimination.
The first episode will see the contestants being unveiled with their groomed look – from their wardrobe to their styling, from hairdos to makeup, the beauties begin their journey to become the divas. With makeovers by Kromakay and RaniMK, styling by Archana Walavalkar for StyleCracker and outfits designed by Cue by Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna and footwear by Gossip shoes, the girls look dazzling. Panelists Kanta Motwani, Rani Rajlaxmi and Anees Muss will judge them in this episode.
Host and mentor Lara Dutta says, “This year, most of the girls have had prior modelling experience. So, they seem pretty confident. But at the same time, they are still raw and unpolished. We have experts on board to help them. It will be interesting to see the transformation and we can't wait to find out that one girl who stands out from the rest.”
A big surprise awaits for the divas from Lara. The B-town actress will gift a ‘Diva Ring’ to all finalists, which they will leave back if they get eliminated. Eliminations will start from the next episode based on the various tasks given to the contestants. The winner of the pageant will represent the country at Miss Universe 2015. The top three finalists of Yamaha Fascino Miss Diva 2015 stand to win a cash prize of 5 lakh. They will also take home a Yamaha Fascino and a jewel-encrusted crown, specially designed by Gemfields.
Though Miss India Universe contest is not a shortcut to Bollywood, it has helped many contestants to enter the film field and some of the most successful stars include Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra among others.
