Miss Philippines Earth originally called “Miss Philippines” is an annual national beauty pageant held in Philippines every year that selects representatives for the Miss Earth international pageant. In case the winner does not qualify due to age or other reasons, a runner-up is sent instead. The Miss Earth pageant abides by the motto of “Beauty With A Cause.” Miss Philippines Earth is a beauty pageant held in search of the most beautiful and environmentally-friendly woman in the Philippines.

The reigning titleholders dedicate their year to promote environmental projects and to address issues concerning the environment. The winners dedicate their year to promote environmental projects and to address issues concerning the environment. The winner will represent Philippines in Miss Earth pageant.

In the year 2001, the Carousel Production abandoned the franchise for both Beauty of the Philippines and Miss Asia Pacific International beauty contests and decided to establish a beauty pageant whose aim was to attain winners who could actively promote and get involved in the preservation of the environment and the protection of Mother Earth. As a result, the Miss Philippines Earth and Miss Earth pageants were established.

The Miss Philippines Earth pageant involves a series of preliminary competitions including swimsuit, long gown, talent competition, resort wear, cocktail wear etc. but most important is the personality and ecological and environmental intelligence during the interview round. In the Year 2008, the pageant broadened its coverage to include candidates from various provinces, cities, and municipalities.

Apart from the title, a series of special awards are also given to the deserving candidates under the categories – Miss Friendship, Trash to Class Challenge, Best in Swimsuit, Best in Evening Gown, Miss Photogenic, Best in Cultural Costume, Miss Photogenic, Miss Talent, Best Cocktail Wear, Best Resort Wear and Darling of the Press.

2017

Karen Ibasco was crowned as Miss Philippines Earth 2017. Nellza Mortola Bautista was crowned as Miss Philippines Fire 2017, Kim De Guzman was crowned as Miss Philippines Air 2017, Vanessa Mae Castillo was crowned as Miss Philippines Eco Tourism 2017 and Jessica Marasigan was crowned as Miss Philippines Water 2017. 

2016

Miss Philippines Earth 2016 was the 16th edition of Miss Philippines Earth pageant. Initially Imelda Schweighart was crowned as the winner. Due to the controversies prior to and after Miss Earth 2016, Imelda resigned from her duties as Miss Philippines Earth. Miss Philippines Earth-Water 2016 Loren Mar Artajos assumed the responsibilities as the new Miss Philippines Earth 2016.

2015

Miss Philippines Earth 2015 was the 15th edition of Miss Philippines Earth pageant.  Angelia Gabrena Ong hailing from City of Manila was crowned Miss Philippines Earth 2015.

2014

Miss Philippines Earth 2014 was the 14th edition of Miss Philippines Earth pageant. Jamie Herrell hailing from Cebu was crowned Miss Philippines Earth 2014.
