Miss Earth South Africa : Info

Miss Earth South Africa is an annual national beauty pageant that selects representative for the Miss Earth beauty pageant. Miss Earth South Africa started in the year 2001 and since then has been sending representatives to the Miss Earth pageant.

Miss Earth South Africa is a program that aims to empower young South African women with the knowledge and platform to create a sustainable difference in the plight to combat the destruction of the natural heritage.

Miss Earth SA is a leadership programme that aims to empower young women with the knowledge and a platform to create a sustainable difference in combating the destruction of SA’s natural heritage.

The programme also helps to create an awareness of sustainable development, wildlife and the conservation of the country’s natural legacy.

South Africa has never won a Miss Earth crown. In 2007, under the representation of Bokang Montjane, the country made it to the Top 16 finalists. Again in 2009, SA made it to the Top 16 list under the representation of Chanel Grantham. 2010 marked the highest placement for South Africa in Miss Earth pageant as Nondyebo Dzingwa made it to the Top 7 finalists. The next highest placement was marked in the year 2012 when Tamerin Jardine made it to Top 8.

Miss Earth South Africa 2016

At the conclusion of the finale of Miss Earth South Africa 2016 held on 8th September 2016 Nozipho Magagula was crowned as the winner. Nozipho succeeds Miss Earth South Africa 2015 Carla Viktor, and will now represent South Africa at the Miss Earth 2016 pageant.
