Miss United Continents 2016 (or Miss Continentes Unido 2016) was the fourth edition of the international pageant and was held on September 24’ 2016 in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The Guayaquil city is located on the beautiful shores of Pacific Ocean and is characterized by, dynamism, organization and the warmth of its people.
At the end of the enchanting gala night of the Miss United Continents 2016 (Miss Continentes Unidos 2016) held on 24 September 2016 at Crystal Palace, Guayaquil, Ecuador, Jeslyn David Santos from Philippines was crowned as the coveted winner.
At the same pageant, Mette Riis Sorensen of Denmark was announced as the ‘Vice Queen’ and was titled first runner-up, Lopamudra Raut from India was adjudged the second runner- up, Taynara Gargantini of Brazil was titled third runner- up, Cynthia Duque of Mexico made it to the fourth runner- up and Rita Silvestre of Panama finished as fifth runner- up.
Prior to 2013, the Miss United Continents pageant was a regional pageant and was known as Miss American Continent (or Miss Continente Americano), as the participation was restricted to the countries in America. In 2013, the contest was renewed as an international pageant, with name changed to Miss United Continents.

This year, apart from all the other perks, the winner was honoured with a new crown as well. The crown of Miss United Continents this year was designed by the talented Ecuadorian jeweler Christian Quintero. The crown is made of fine gold 925 and includes precious gems (topaz) and semi-precious gems (zirconium). Christian Quintero commits to develop a unique design, using high-quality techniques of manufacturing.
Miss United Continent is organized by the Municipality of Guayaquil and Gama TV, one of the largest in the country, which also organizes the event Miss Ecuador under the management of María del Carmen de Aguayo.
