Miss Universe Iceland 2018 will host its grand coronation night on 21st August 2018 at the Hljómahöll Stapi Concert and Conference Hall in Reykjanesbær. The reigning queen, Miss Universe Iceland 2017 Arna Ýr Jónsdóttir will crown her successor at the conclusion of the finale.
In the series of features, the third contestant in Angelopedia's Top 10 favourite contestants competing for the title is Miss Midnight Sun 2018 Katrín Lea Elenudóttir.
From Katrín’s first day in Iceland, she fell in love with its natural beauty and residents. Katrin’s mother is her role model, she tells her, “only the one who does everything on time and makes the effort, can enjoy real success”. It is through the power of these words that Katrin, 19, learned Icelandic and received acceptance into the most prestigious college Menntaskolinn I Reykjavik. Katrin speaks 3 languages fluently and thinks that language skills can open doors for many opportunities. She volunteers at an elementary school where she assists teen immigrants with their homework and personal challenges. If she wins the title of Miss Universe Iceland 2018, she will use the exposure gained from this competition to encourage young people to have goals in life and achieve them.
