71st Miss World Top 40 – Jessica Gagen of England (Head-to-Head Challenge Winner)

Miss World organization, through their official social media, announced the results of the Head-to-Head Challenge as the five winners won a spot in the Top 40 for the finale. These winners represented their Beauty with a Purpose projects at the finale of Head-to-Head Challenge held on 23rd February 2024 at The Summit Room in Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

 

 

Jessica Gagen, of England, secured a spot in the Top 40 with her win at Head-to-Head Challenge. With her degree in Aerospace Engineering, Jessica’s Beauty with a Purpose project focused on STEM learning to encourage more girls in the engineering sector. Jessica also spoke about her journey, the skills engineers have, the industries that like engineers and exciting engineering topics which concern sustainability and also advocated for climate change.

Jessica wants to show young girls that femininity and engineering aren't mutually exclusive, and empower them. She has visited multiple schools in her country where she spoke about STEM and space. Gagen also spoke about the technology that everyone utilizes daily as a result of aerospace engineering, and exciting future topics concerning sustainability that children can be a part of.

 

 

“The future of human life depends on science and engineering. Whether it's improving sustainability, tackling climate change or creating new medicines, it's the scientists and engineers of the world who solve these problems - so it's integral we educate children about the exciting world of STEM and how they can be involved”, she quoted.

The 71st Miss World will be crowned on 9th March 2024 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India where Miss World 2021 Karolina Bielawska of Poland will crown her successor at the end of the event finale. The event will be live-streamed by Sonyliv India, starting at 7:30 PM local time.
