During the Republic day of India, the French President, François Hollande visited India, and thereby invited the beauty at a luncheon.

After the noteworthy event, the famous actress and beauty queen told the paparazzi that it was a "great honor" to be invited for a special lunch with French President François Hollande. Erstwhile, Aishwarya Rai was honored with the award of “Ordre des Arts et des Lettres” by the Government of France in 2012, and is hence a recognized public figure in France.

The actress, who was busy in shooting her new film "Sarbjit", decided to take out time from her busy schedule to attend the lunch. She is the only one from the film industry of Bollywood to be invited for the lunch, so it's an immense honor.

Aishwarya is regular at the Cannes International Film Festival, which is held annually in France. Aishwarya is also an ambassador of French cosmetics and beauty company L'Oréal Paris, for which she recently starred in an ad with Eva Longoria. In fact, she even shot for her international film "Pink Panther 2" in Paris.
