Amanda Balbino, 20, won the contest for Miss Federal District 2015, which took place on Saturday night 11th July 2015, at the Auditorium Master Ruth Cardoso, at the Convention Center Ulysses Guimarães. This was the first time a black candidate won the competition. She represented Núcleo Bandeirante at the Miss Federal District and is a student of 5th semester of Psychology at the University of Brasilia DF will represent Distrito Federal at the Miss Brazil2015. During the ceremony, the candidates paraded in five rounds wearing different clothing - short dress, bikini, evening gown, swimsuit, long dress and again full costume.
Amanda Balbino, a mix of traditional Brazilian beauty - with dark skin and curly hair - and measures of an international top model beat more than 20 other candidates to win the title of Miss Distrito Federal 2015. On her Facebook wall Amanda said, “To be a miss is not a mere vanity but an opportunity to show every black princess that she can be what you want, go where you want, occupy everywhere you want." Miss Federal District in 2015 was the 54th edition of the competition that chose the best candidate to represent the Brasilia Federal District and its culture in the Miss Brazil 2015.
