Andrei´na Martínez, who was supposed to represent Dominican Republic at Miss Universe 2021, is now preparing for her stint at Miss Universe 2022. Andrei´na had to withdraw her participation from the 2021 edition because she was diagnosed positive for Covid 19 a week before the competition. First runner-up Debbie Aflalo replaced her and represented Dominican Republic at Miss Universe 2021.
Andrei´na Martínez is now bouncing back from the unfortunate event that happened last year and is now preparing for Miss Universe 2022. The stunning beauty is a Dominican-American psychologist and a model who hails from Santiago de los Caballeros and New York.
Fluent in Spanish and English, Andrei´na has excellent oratory skills which will be advantageous for her at the international competition. The diva attended Bronx Bridges High School in Bronx, New York until 2015. In 2019, she attended the City College of the City University of New York (CCNY) in New York City where she earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and Latin American studies. She graduated summa cum laude.
In 2017, she also served as a legislative intern at the district office of Senator Jose Serrano in New York. During the same period, she was a Caucus CUNY scholar. She also worked as a peer mentor of the SEEK Program at the CCNY and as a health educator at Peer Health Exchange.
Andrei´na was a legislative intern at the office of Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand in Washington, D.C., USA in 2018. During that time, she also worked as a legislative budget intern at the New York City Council. In December 2018, the National council for Behavioral Health issued her mental health first aid certification.

She was 24 years old when she was crowned Miss Universe Dominican Republic 2021 but unfortunately could not represent her country at Miss Universe 2021. However, Andrei´na will definitely be a strong contender for the international crown if she continues her preparation with the same sincerity and dedication.
