Marisela De Montecristo won the national title of Miss Universe El Salvador 2018 on 16th June 2018 as she became the official representative of El Salvador in Miss Universe 2018. From San Salvador, Marisela is a television host, model, and actress who is developing her dream career as a TV personality and building her online magazine about health, fitness, beauty, and fashion. She is also Angelopedia’s one of the favourite contestants competing for Miss Universe 2018.

Owning a non-profit 'Demontecristo Foundation', Marisela helps underprivileged families and children with disabilities, as well as provides students with school supplies through her foundation. As a child, the diva suffered bullying at school for her background, language barrier, and physical appearance. Being an immigrant, Marisela had a rough childhood but she got out of it and is more confident and strong now.

With her title, if she wins, Marisela wishes to continue to help the underprivileged families and children with disabilities and well as provide school supplies and give them every opportunity that she wasn’t given.  She wants to use her voice to empower and inspire the youth, women, and all human beings who have big aspirations.

Not new to the pageantry, Marisela won Nuestra Belleza Latina 2013 and made surprise appearances on several shows and was a backstage presenter on Premios Juventud. She also worked as a model on Sábado Gigante and made a cameo appearance in the "Fun" music video by Pitbull.

Alisson Abarca represented El Salvador in Miss Universe 2017 but failed to place in the Top. The country is yet to pioneer its win in the Miss Universe competition and with Marisela’s participation, El Salvador can definitely win its first ever Miss Universe crown.
