Mayra Benita Alves Dias was crowned Miss Universe Brazil 2018 on 26th May 2018 as she defeated twenty-seven other delegates to win the national crown. Representing Brazil in the ongoing Miss Universe 2018, Mayra Dias is definitely one of the strongest contestants competing in the pageant.

The 27-year-old is from Manaus, Amazonas and is fluent in Portuguese. Mayra represented Amazonas in Miss Universe Brazil 2018. She is a journalist by profession and is deeply involved in defending environmental causes by raising awareness of the issues of deforestation. The gorgeous Brazilian definitely knows how to be socially aware along with carrying herself with dignity and grace.

Not new to the pageant world, Mayra won Miss Mundo Amazonas 2015, placed Top 20 in Miss Mundo Brazil 2015, First Runner-up in Reina Hispanoamericana 2016 and then went on to win Miss Amazonas 2018. Mayra’s top-notch fashion sense can also be seen through her dazzling outfits all over her social media.

To keep the traditional culture of her hometown alive, Mayra loves to cook amazing typical Amazon dishes. She also wishes to advocate for Amazonia’s environmental issues which she knows is a worldwide issue. At the National Costume competition held just yesterday, Mayra performed with dignity and enthusiasm and proved it to everyone that she was in the competition to win it and won’t let anything get in her way.

Last year, Monalysa Alcântara represented Brazil in Miss Universe 2017 and also placed in the Top 10 with her exceedingly well performance. Brazil won its first ever Miss Universe title in 1963 when Ieda Maria Vargas brought home the title. Martha Vasconcellos won the second Miss Universe title in 1968 and haven’t won any Miss Universe title since then.
