When Anukreethy Vas was crowned Femina Miss India Tamil Nadu 2018, little did she know that she will go on to become Miss World India 2018 and represent her nation in Miss World 2018! Time flies, things happen and in this case, Anukreethy really saw her hardworking come into fruition.

Raised by a strong and independent single mother, Anukreethy learned about the power than a woman can hold in her hand from a very early age. This Indian beauty is 20 years of age, and currently studying in Loyola College, Chennai, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in French to fulfil her mother’s wishes.

Apart from academics, Anukreethy also finds time for modelling professionally. She has been very active in sports as well as she is a state level, long-distance athlete. This 170 cm tall representative of India also enjoys all types of sports but is particularly fond of handball and basketball.

But her list of talents doesn’t end with that, Anukreethy has a special talent as a stuntwoman and is a professionally trained freestyle dancer! Talk about diverse interests. She also has found her passion and wants to pursue her career in the field of Fine Arts in the near future.

The grand finale of Femina Miss India 2018 was held on 19th June 2018 in Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium, Mumbai. The event was star-studded with performances by many Bollywood actors. At the conclusion of the finale, Anukreethy was crowned by none other than Miss World India 2017 Manushi Chhillar. She also won the Best Smile award and Beauty with a Purpose award.

The pressure is really high for Anukreethy this year as her predecessor, Manushi Chhillar, is none other than the reigning Miss World 2017. But since she is a strong candidate, there is no doubt that Anukreethy will be able to carry pressure effortlessly.

India has won the title of Miss World six times in the past and is tied up with Venezuela when it comes to winning the most number of crowns. If Anukreethy manages to win, she will become the 7th crown holder from India and will lead India to a consecutive win!

Anukreethy’s wide range of interests, her dedication, her work and passion make her a very strong delegate this year, for the crown, which is why she is one of Angelopedia’s favourite contestant this year. She will definitely be able to make a concrete mark in form of the judges and probably be the new Miss World this year!
