Anukriti Gusain, who was a finalist for the most popular beauty contest in India - Femina Miss India, was appointed by the Miss India organization to represent India in Miss Grand International 2017 pageant.
Anukriti is 22 years of age, weighs 51 kgs, stands tall at 171 cm and has almost perfect vitals of 34-23.5-35. She hails from the state of Uttarakhand in India and completed her schooling from Army Public School, Lansdowne. She then completed her graduation in computer science from DIT University, Dehradun.
She has a charming face, a smart brain, and is able to articulate effectively. Her passion to enter the showbiz led her to start competing in beauty pageants. She first competed in Femina Miss India 2013 pageant at a very young age of 18, where she was placed in Top 5, and also won the special awards (fully deserved of course) of Miss Photogenic and Miss Beautiful Smile. She does have a photogenic face and a smile to die for!
Later, she was crowned Miss India Asia Pacific World 2014 and represented India in the Miss Asia Pacifica World 2014 competition held in Seoul, Korea, where she was declared the fourth runner-up.
Besides being a model, the beauty is also a television host and presenter. She has worked as a television presenter for Planet Bollywood News aired on Zoom TV.
Her ambition is to drive community service initiatives in the scope of 'Right to Education' among underprivileged children and women empowerment programs.
"To represent India at Miss Grand International 2017 is a big opportunity for me. I would say this is something I always wanted to. The feeling hasn't sunk it yet and I can't really believe it. I'm really thankful to Miss India Organization for giving me this opportunity and believing in me”, she said after she was appointed to represent India in MGI 2017.
In her own words "I am a happy go lucky girl who is culturally driven and steadfast in my approach towards life. I draw my inspiration from my parents who have led an exemplary life of selfless service and faithful servants of humanity. Adaptability to new environments comes naturally to me. I strongly believe in leading life driven by the power of love and humility.
I feel that God has created us with a purpose to add value and meaning to the world and going by this belief, I have managed to institute a school providing preliminary education to underprivileged children in my locality and named it Udaan (which means flight of dreams). Journeying along with these children made me realize that there is much more to life than performing to claim validation and acceptance to satisfy our greed. I believe that one should live today in the way we want to be remembered tomorrow. I believe that one should live today in the way we want to be remembered tomorrow".
As her facial beauty has always been appreciated by pageant fans since the time she started participating, the expectations from Anukriti are very high to win the first ever Miss Grand International title for India.
