Remember the beauty from Uttarakhand, Anukriti Gusain, who competed at Femina Miss India 2017? She will now represent India at Miss Grand International 2017 pageant. Anukriti succeeds Pankhuri Gidwani, and the news about Anukriti representing India at MGI 2016 was officially announced by Femina Miss India Organization in the live chat of Facebook handle on 17 July 2017.

An engineer graduate in computer science, Anukriti is a model and a TV Host. She was one of the top 5 finalists of Femina Miss India 2013 and won Miss Beautiful Smile and Miss Photogenic in sub contest awards. She represented India at Miss Asia Pacific World 2014 and finished as 4th Runner Up.

On being appointed as India’s representative to Miss Grand International, Anukriti said, "To represent India at Miss Grand International 2017 is a big opportunity for me. I would say this is something I always wanted to. The feeling hasn't sunk it yet and I can't really believe it. I'm really thankful to Miss India Organization for giving me this opportunity and believing in me."

The fifth edition of Miss Grand International 2017 will be held on 25th October 2017 in Vietnam, wherein reigning Miss Grand International Ariska Putri from Indonesia will crown her successor. India has never won a Miss Grand International title, and the country’s highest placement was when in 2015 Vartika Singh was crowned as second runner-up.
