Messry Lung'atso of Kenya was crowned Beauty of the Africa International 2022 as the finale was held on 9th September 2022 at the Sheraton Hotel in Abuja, Nigeria.

Messry is 23 years of age and hails from Mumias, a small town in Kenya. She is in the final year student pursuing a degree in Economics at the University of Nairobi. At the finale, she also bagged the Most Photogenic award.

On winning the Beauty of Africa International 2022 award, Messry took to her official social media as she wrote, “We had a dream. We believed and we hit the road running. God has been faithful. I want to thank the entire BAIP team for creating this life changing platform. Lots of gratitude to the BAIP Kenya team for guiding me and leading me on the right path.”

“To my country People, you have been a blessing. Your support has me overwhelmed! I can't thank you enough for showing up and raising our flag high up! And now Africa, our beautiful land, we are indeed honored to be children of this soil! To all African girls, your dreams are valid, do not relent. To all African Kids and youth, do not let fear hold you hostage. Cheers to the new reign, we pray and hope that it will be blissful, blessed and beautiful”, she added.

Also at the end of the event finale, Prisca Abah of Ghana was awarded the first runner-up position. She also bagged the Best in National Costume award. Juliana Okereke of Namibia was adjudged as the second runner-up.

The Best in Evening Gown award went to Nazimizye Adam Mdolo of Tanzania who also got Most Friendly award. Best in Talent award went to Nadjo Emilie of Central Africa. Congratulations to the winners.
