Returning after two years, Binibining Parañaque recently hosted the grand coronation ceremony for the 2022 edition of the regional pageant on 12th February 2022 at the Parañaque City Hall Grounds. The ceremony was also streamed live on Parañaque Tourism Official’s Facebook page. At the end of the event, Binibining Parañaque 2019 Naelah Alshorbaji, who is also the reigning Miss Philippines Earth 2021, crowned Danica Elys Serrano of Barangay Sun Valley as her successor.

Second Runner up - Nicky Kathleen Gilbert of Merville

Third Runner up - Shelette Ann Samonte of Baclaran

Fourth Runner up - Samantha Elin Coloso of Vitalez

22 years-old Danica Elys M. Serrano, is currently a fourth year Nursing student in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila. The diva who loves to create and smile, has a strong inclined towards performing arts. She loves to dance, write poems and mostly expresses what she feels in the form of art.

Having faced some judgments around her sexuality while growing up, Danica shared, “I grew up together with my younger brother, older sister and my cousins who are apparently boys, so people often see me as someone boyish. Some other times, people mistook me as a lesbian.  Nevertheless, I did not let those judgments define who I really am and who I wanted to be. I believed I could be anything I wanted to be and so right now, I'm living my life stepping out of my comfort zone and crossing boundaries because we only live once, so why bother?”

Ever since she was young, she always wanted to be a doctor. “Helping those in need and giving the right services Filipinos are entitled to is what I want to do in the near future. I'm also really fond of children. I can't bare to see them hurt, so I want to be a pediatrician someday. I do not aim to become rich nor to work abroad. I have devoted myself to my loving country, believe it or not. I want to lessen the pain the other people are feeling and give them a little comfort with what they are going through in their lives,” Serrano shared talking about her goals.
