How Pia Wurtzbach inspired Miss Supranational Philippines 2018 Jehza Huelar

Binibining Pilipinas 2018 has been the rage amongst pageant viewers even after conclusion. The reason for this can be chalked up to the fact that Philippines has been doing extraordinary at all world pageants recently and the Binibining queens this year are expected to take the country’s performance at international pageants up one notch.

The 6-queen team of Binibining Pilipinas 2018 includes some of the most sought out for beauty queens, who are sure to make it a good pageant year. One of those names is Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2018 Jehza Huelar. Jehza has been at pageantry for a long time, and knows the true struggles of a beauty queen. But what kept her going? What did she say to herself, to take a third shot at the pageant and emerge a winner? The answer might be, ‘What would Pia do?’

Like many Filipinas, with a dream to become a beauty queen, Jehza also looks up to Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach. After losing the crown for two years, Jehza picked herself together, just like Pia, and applied another time, to claim the crown that she knew she deserved to wear.

“I felt I was happy, I was contented with my life. Ayoko na ring masaktan,” Huelar told a section of the media, as she recalled the deadline of applications for Bb. Pilipinas 2018.

“I told myself, ‘Jehza, focus. You can’t let this pass by again for the third time. Jehza, kunin mo na ‘yung korona.’”

This inspirational story reminds us of when Pia Wurtzbach won her crown in her third attempt. Too similar to be true? Well, Jehza has called Pia her inspiration in the past, maybe the two are more alike than anyone realizes.
