Miss Earth Water 2015, Brittany Ann Payne, who is also the reigning Miss Earth United States, inaugurated the much awaited National Green Week in Washington. The event was specifically initiated by the new team of Miss Earth United States, wherein the beauty queen took certain actions to safeguard Mother Earth. Joining her were the National and Executive Directors of Miss Earth United States, Laura Clark and Lisa Forbes.
The event invited young women from ages 11-32. National Green Week is an annual event that empowers schools to engage in sustainability focused lessons, projects or activities between the first full week in February and the end of Earth Month in April.

On December 5, Payne was titled as second runner up at the 15th Annual Miss Earth Coronation in Vienna, Austria. She also received first Place for her Eco-Beauty Video and was awarded the international title of Miss Earth-Water.
In addition to visiting the area's schools, Payne also spoke to girls and women about her experience during a private workshop held on Saturday in Rockville, Maryland. During media interviews, Payne presented a newly branded sash and crown as well as a new home for the 2016 national contest, to be held in July 31-August 4 in Washington, D.C.
Despite of having maximum winners, runner ups, finalists and semi-finalists at other international pageants, USA has continued a dry run at Miss Earth since its inception, when it comes to winning the main crown. USA has won many elemental titles, but the quest for crown is still ongoing. With such eye catching events, it is sure that USA might grab its first Miss Earth crown in coming editions.
