Miss Universe Portugal 2020 Cristiana Silva Alves has been preparing her best to represent her country at the 69th edition of Miss Universe. Along with Miss Portuguesa organization, Silva shared the details of the national costume that she’ll be showcasing at the National Costume competition which will be held on 13th May 2021.

The national organization took to their official social media to show the costume which is designed by Pedro Neto. They wrote, “This look is based on several typical Portuguese points as well as the history that reminds us of Portugal with love.

Having several references such as the Azores, fado, textile labor and filigree, this look aims to be able to show all these previously mentioned references in one, thus creating a look that will fade away showing all the wealth that is Portugal.”

“As a base, a black lace jumpsuit was developed that is very close to the body that represents fado, the mystery of wanting to show the body but not too much. Follow the dress all in tulle with lots of frills, with gold print in all over to represent the filigree and all the handmade finish. Finally, in order to protect everything that has been described so far, the Azorean mantle appears where it will be lined with tulle to imitate the skirt, so when this mantle is removed, it will drag on the floor and mirror the skirt”, the organization added.

The 69th edition of Miss Universe i.e., Miss Universe 2020, is all set to be held on 16th May 2021 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, United States where Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
