The much anticipated Miss World 2016 pageant is slated to be held in the capital of United States, Washington DC on December 20’ 2016. The official announcement was made by the Miss World Organisation on June 16’ 2016.
Yes!! For the second time in the history of Miss World, the pageant will be held in the United States. The venue for the grand finale is yet to be announced. As reported, the pre pageant activities will initiate from November 29’ 2016, and the departure is scheduled to be held on December 21’ 2016.
More than 100 countries from all over the globe will compete for the coveted crown of Miss World in the 66th edition. The reigning Miss World is Mireia Lalaguna from Spain. At the conclusion of the pageant, Mireia will pass on her crown and her reign to her successor. The delegates of Miss World are judged through various fastrack events, including – Top Model, Talent, Multimedia, Sports, beauty with a Purpose and Resort Wear.

Many countries have already crowned their representatives for the Miss World pageant, and many are still on the verge of searching the perfect candidate for the pageant. The Miss World is one of the oldest beauty pageants amongst the Big 4 (four) international beauty pageants. It was started in the year 1951, the idea of Miss World beauty pageant was conceptualized by late Eric Morley, the first edition of the Miss World beauty pageant was held in United Kingdom. Miss World is one of the most publicized beauty pageants alongside Miss Universe and Miss Earth pageants.
