Elizabeth Safrit, the reigning Miss North Carolina US, has been crowned Miss United States 2014, and will represent the United States of America at Miss World 2014 pageant to be held in London this year. The gala final event was held at the Sphinx Club in Washington, District of Columbia on July 6, 2014. Miss World 2013 - Megan Young of Philippines and Events Director of Miss World - Stephen Douglas were also present at the event.
Elizabeth is 22 years old, stand tall at 175 cm and hails from Kannapolis, North Carolina. She is a senior at the University of South Carolina and is currently pursuing her degree in political science with a minor in journalism. She hopes to further a career in broadcast journalism after completion of her graduate degree and aspires to become a political news analyst for a major news network.
