22 Sep 2021 | Priya Bhardwaj

Miss Earth New Zealand organization elected its 2021 representative to Miss Earth 2021 amidst lockdown restrictions due to Covid-19. Eva Wilson has been elected Miss Earth New Zealand 2021 and will represent her country at the Miss Earth 2021. There was no stage or crowning moment due to lockdown restrictions in New Zealand.

The 25-year-old beauty is a Maori health worker who enjoys hiking and exploring in her country. She earned her bachelor’s degree in health science from The University of Auckland in Auckland, New Zealand. Wilson is interested in studying the causes of inequities of health in New Zealand, particularly focusing on youth and Maori health.

Not new to the pageantry, Eva was Miss Five Crowns New Zealand 2017 finalist, World Miss Tourism Ambassador New Zealand 2017 and represented New Zealand at World Miss Tourism Ambassador 2017 where she was unplaced. She also won Miss Five Crowns New Zealand 2018. In 2019, she won the title of Miss Supranational New Zealand 2019. She represented New Zealand at Miss Supranational 2019 in Katowice, Poland and competed against 76 other candidates. She finished in the Top 25 and was crowned Miss Supranational Oceania 2019.

Eva took to her official social media to reveal her emotions in a post captioned, “Miss Earth New Zealand 2021. Thank you, Miss Earth New Zealand for giving me to opportunity to represent our country on the international stage. As a frontline health worker, it has been hard for me to switch between PPE during the day and evening gowns in the small hours of the night filming in my bedroom - but with the help of my lockdown bubble, we made it work. Thank you so much to those around me for helping make this dream come true. Thank you to our amazing list of sponsors who have supported us throughout our Miss Earth New Zealand journey!”

Congratulations!
