Q. Congratulations on being crowned as the Miss Grand International 2015. How does it feel to be Miss Grand International 2015?
Thank you so much! It's such a great honour to now be Miss Grand International 2015. I am really looking forward to all the amazing opportunities that will come along with it during my reign!

Q. The world celebrates you as Miss Grand International, but would you like to give us a glimpse of your veiled personality?
I think people must think I am really glamorous all the time because they always see me in photos with gorgeous dresses and lots of makeup on and stuff, but actually on my days off I am not like that at all! I hardly wear makeup and I am most comfortable just hanging out in casual clothes and flat shoes! Also I am pretty goofy and playful a lot of time. So when I am doing official appearances and events I have to act a lot more professional and mature.

Q. How do you wish to take forward the “Peace” Ideology of Miss Grand International Organisation during your reign?
I think it's really important with this particular advocacy to 'be your word' and 'be the change you wish to see in the world'. You cannot be an advocate for peace until you exercise peace yourself in all aspects of your life. I try my best to be a model of acceptance and understanding so that I can then spread awareness about it worldwide; not only through my words, but through my actions as well.

Q. What was your motivation behind stepping into the world of beauty pageants?
It was kind of something that was a natural progression for me because as a young girl there were many roles and career paths I wanted to pursue, but I didn't know how to do them all at once. I wanted to be in politics and be Australia's first female Prime Minister, and I also wanted to be a teacher. I was very interested in the fashion industry, I loved public speaking and being a leader and so wanted to use those skills to be a motivational speaker, and I also loved the stage and performing. Being a beauty queen allows me to be all of those roles and use all of those skills in one profession!

Q. What was your most unforgettable memory of the pageant, which you still cherish today?
I would have to say the top 2 finalists’ moment on the finals night, it's the moment every pageant girl dreams of reaching when there's only two of you left standing on stage, holding hands and awaiting the name they will call as the winner. Even though on the night I was announced as the first runner up, I was still so absolutely exhilarated and overjoyed I could not wipe the smile off my face. I love watching the footage of that moment, as it makes me smile every time seeing how happy and proud I was!

Q. Would you like to share some uniquely saccharine moments of your childhood with us?
My childhood was spent very much outdoors, I loved being active as a kid, I played a lot of sports, I was involved in quite a lot of co-curricular activities. My younger sister and I are very close and we grew up together climbing trees, making mud pies, running around in the rain. We both loved to play made up games and would often invent our own imaginary games together where we pretended to be animals or princesses or fairies. Our parents were very generous with us and allowed us to pursue every interest we had. They drove us to netball games, piano lessons, gymnastics, and dancing competitions. They planted flowers in the garden with us, threw amazing birthday parties for us, whatever we wanted they did their best to provide us and I always look back on my childhood with great fondness.

Q. Who were your closest pals in the beautiful journey of Miss Grand International 2015? Any special memory you would like to share from behind the scenes of the pageant with us?
Miss Grand England and Miss Grand Scotland (Beth Greenham and Taylor Stringfellow) were my two partners in crime during the competition! You go through a lot, emotionally and physically during an international beauty pageant, and it can be very tough and very demanding and so you bond very closely with the girls competing with you because they are the ones who push you through when you're feeling tired or pick you up when you're feeling down. Beth, Taylor and I had some hilarious adventures together in Thailand and I love the two of them very much! We have many great memories together - doing workouts on the roof of our hotel because there wasn't a hotel gym, eating lots of desserts at meals even though we shouldn't have. On the night of the final Beth was in the same change room as me and as I progressed through each round she was backstage shoving chocolate in my mouth and giving me pep talks! Of course there were times too when we would be tired or overwhelmed or missing home and we were always there for each other for a big cuddle and a cheer up. The three of us are still really close and I am hoping to have a chance to visit them in the UK later this year!

Q. If you had to describe your “perfect man”, what traits of his personality would be written in bold?
I think it's hard to describe a 'perfect man' because each person has their own individual traits which you love about them and which make you feel connected to them. Ideally, I like someone who is kind and generous, hard working, funny, confident, adventurous, positive, understanding and independent. Someone who I can talk to for hours and never run out of things to say but who I can also feel comfortable to sit in complete silence with, also someone who will be my motivation and support in pursuing my dreams. If it was Justin Bieber or Zac Efron that would be okay too!

Q. What according to you defines femininity? Who is the most treasured female figure in your life?
It's difficult to define femininity on a whole because it means something different to everyone. I couldn't choose between my sister, my mum and my grandmother as the most treasured female figures in my life, and each one of them display different qualities of femininity that I value. I don't think being feminine means being 'girly' or 'soft', especially not in this day and age. For me, femininity is defined by being confident in yourself and your place in the world as a woman and not letting anyone take that away or undermine that. It means being humble, understanding, intuitive, patient, caring and selfless, but also strong in the face of adversity, hard working, resilient, just, and committed to your values.

Q. If you wish to write an autobiography, what would be its last sentence?
"And she lived happily ever after", I always wanted to be a fairytale princess!

Q. If not a beauty queen, what would you have aspired to be?
I never really aspired to be a beauty queen when I was younger actually, and it's not a role that is going to last forever, I have many more dreams that I hope to achieve in the next few decades of my life! My lifelong dream really has been to be an actress in Hollywood. So once my tenure as Miss Grand International is up, I am going to focus on pursuing that next goal.

Q. If there were no rules in your life for a day, what all would you do?
What WOULDN'T I do that's the real question! I would probably go shopping and buy all the beautiful, expensive things I can't afford to buy hehe!

Q. If you had to change one thing in your past, what would it be and why?
I sometimes wish I had worked harder and been more focused in High School. I didn't really learn strict self discipline until I was studying at university and I feel sometimes I could have worked harder during High School. However, things like that you can only learn with time, wisdom and reflection and regardless I still got into the university course that I wanted, so it wasn't all that bad. Self discipline and being accountable for your actions is a difficult thing to learn at a young age, especially given how tumultuous being a teenager can be, but I have certainly learned those skills now and really, that's what life is about, learning from your past experiences to improve on in your future.

Q. What suggestions would you like to give to aspiring beauty queens?
I could honestly talk for days about advice for aspiring beauty queens, I think the most important things to remember are that being a beauty queen is not the same as being a model, your job is not only to be beautiful on the outside, but more importantly to be beautiful on the inside as well. Also, competing in beauty pageants isn't a life or death situation, definitely work hard and be committed if you want to achieve, but also remember to enjoy yourself, have a strong support team around you and retain confidence in yourself because you WILL be critiqued and judged every step along the way, and don't forget to keep a grip on reality and who you are as a person because at the end of the day, there will only be one winner and everyone else continues on with their lives after the competition.

Q. What message would you like to give to your fans on Angelopedia?
Thank you so much to all the fans on Angelopedia, everyone has been so supportive and loving towards me and I appreciate it so much, I do my best to get back to everyone's lovely messages as much as I can, but even if I don't always reply, know that I read them and I appreciate them so much! I hope you guys will continue to support me in future and that I can be a great Miss Grand International who makes everyone proud!
