At the grand slam finale of Miss Maroc 2015 held in a Movenpick hotel in the city of Tangiers, Fatima Ezzahra El-Horre, 23 year of age from Marrakech, was crowned Miss Maroc 2015. Fatima Ezzahra El-Horre will represent Morocco at the Miss World 2015 pageant. Lydia Marin was the first Miss Maroc to represent the newly independent nation of Morocco at Miss World 1956. The last pageant was held in the year 2012 but the winner did not participate in any of the Big4 pageants.
The 2015 edition of Miss Maroc was amidst some serious controversies. Recently, according to a local newspaper the delegates have experienced sexual harassment from some guests from the Gulf region inside the hotel where they were staying before the finals. The final of Miss Maroc 2015 was graced by Carina Tyrrell, Miss United Kingdom 2014. She reached Tangier and attended the pageant as one of the judges for the evening. Fatima’s participation in Miss World 2015 will mark the return of Morocco to the international beauty pageants after almost five decades.
Fatima Ezzahra El Horre has a delicate naïve charm and looks like a promising bet for Morocco at the Miss World 2015 pageant.
