Manushi Chhillar crowned as Femina Miss India 2017

At the conclusion of the finale of Femina Miss India 2017, held on 25th June 2017 at the Yashraj Studio, Mumbai, Manushi Chhillar from Haryana was crowned as the winner. Manushi succeeds Miss India 2016 Priyadarshini Chatterjee, and will now represent India at Miss World 2017 pageant to be held in China later this year. Manushi was among our top favourites for the title.

Manushi is a model by profession and is a medical student. Dancing, Painting, Singing, Poetry writing are some of her hobbies. She was one of the finalists of Campus Princess 2017. At the same pageant, Sana Dua from Jammu & Kashmir was adjudged the first runner-up, and Priyanka Kumari from Bihar was announced as the second runner-up. 
 
The pageant started with the contestants’ introduction. Manish Malhotra, Stephanie Del Valle, Arjun Rampal, Abhishek Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz, Vidyut Jamwal and Bipasha Basu graced the judging panel for the night; while Karan Johar and Riteish Deshmukh were the hosts for the night. The girls walked the stage donning stunning creations by renowned designer Manish Malhotra.
 
After a series of performances, it was time to announce the semi-finalists for the night. The 15 semi finalists of Femina Miss India 2017 are – Anukriti Gusain (Multimedia winner), Priyanka Kumari, Licha Thosum, Rody H vanlalhriatpuii, Shefali Sood, Triveni Barman, Sana Dua, Aditi Hundia, Navpreet Kaur, Aishwarya Devan, Manushi Chhillar, Audrey D'Silva, Maira Chowdhury, Mannat Singh and Swathi Muppala.

The 15 finalists then went through the Question and Answer round, based on which the Top 6 finalists were announced – Shefali Sood, Sana Dua, Priyanka Kumari, Manushi Chhillar, Aishwarya Devan and Anukriti Gusain.

The Top 6 finalists then had to answer one common question, which was – “You have spent 30 days with 30 contestants, what lesson will you take back with you?”
 
Miss Uttarakhand, Anukriti Gusain answers "We have made beautiful memories here, will be taking those back!"
 
Miss Jammu-Kashmir, Sana Dua says "Will take the essence? of the warrior spirit of every contestant, their warmth & culture"
 
Miss Haryana, Manushi Chillar says "Throughout the journey I had a vision & with this came a belief, I can change the world!"
 
Miss Uttar Pradesh, Shefali Sood says "Empathy is the greatest virtue, have learnt humility!"
 
Miss Bihar, Priyanka Kumari: "How to be positive, the importance of acceptance that makes us unique & stand out in a crowd"
 
Miss Maharashtra, Aishwarya Devan: "They all are unique in their own way, respect & love each other & never let anyone down"
 
Based on the answers, the winner and the runners-up were announced.
 
In addition to announcing the winner and the runners-up, a series of Special Awards were also awarded to the following contestants – 
 
Miss Tripura, Rinky Chakma won the Beauty With A Purpose title.
 
Miss Uttarakhand, Anukriti Gusain bags the Miss Multimedia title.
