After winning millions of hearts at the finale of Miss Universe Australia 2017, the runner-up, Georgie Mitchell has now other plans in mind. The Woollahra-based model is all set to make her dream change into reality by starting her PhD in Artificial Intelligence.

“I’ve got a thirst for knowledge. I’ve always really enjoyed studying but I’ve also really enjoyed the fashion industry, so modeling as well.” She said.

Mitchell finished as the first Runner-up in the prestigious Miss Universe Australia 2017 pageant where Olivia Rogers from Adelaide won the title. She entered into the world of pageant to make friends and to meet new people.

“I wanted to challenge myself. It actually took a lot of courage I felt to re-enter and then I’m so happy I did because I’m really thrilled with the result.”

She has complete her MBA and now wants to attain the degree of Ph.D. “I want to make a contribution towards knowledge,” she added.

“It is four years full-time and then you become a Doctor of Philosophy. I’ll hopefully be doing it by scholarship, I’ve been discussing that with my university­ ... that is very competitive.”

The beauty is now looking for a professor who can guide her for studies for a couple of years while she continues modeling.

“You have to find a supervisor that will back you and supervise you throughout the entire experience. “They not only have to believe­ in you and your work ethic, but they have to believe in your subject and that it’s credible. You have to find that one person,” she ended.
