Helen Strickland, former Miss Arkansas USA, asked her Twitter followers for prayers on Monday, December 28, as her husband a renowned country singer, Craig Strickland, has been missing since a hunting trip this weekend.
Helen tweeted updates regarding her husband’s missing status after his friend Chase Morland was found dead on Monday. “Craig is still missing,” she told her followers. “The search has been called for the night. It will resume again in the morning with a sonar boat. Still need prayers.”

She followed up with a poster that read, “Prayers for Craig Strickland,” which included a photo of her with her husband. “We love you Craig Michael,” Helen wrote. “Come home.”
Craig, 29, was reported missing on Sunday with his friend Morland, after the two failed to return home from a duck-hunting trip in Kay Country, Oklahoma, a region north of Tulsa. A search and rescue mission was launched the following morning for the men, and Morland's body was retrieved on Monday morning, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirmed to US Weekly.
Prior to the trip, Morland shared an ominous tweet. “In case we don’t come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma,” he wrote on Saturday, December 26. “#IntoTheStorm.”
As Craig remains missing, his Backroad Anthem bandmates have also been sharing updates via their group's social media account. The singers have posted multiple Facebook updates from Craig’s father, Randy Strickland. “Update from @strickark we love you Randy, Helen, Joanne, and family!” they tweeted late Monday. “We are believing in a miracle!”
Like Helen, Randy expressed hope for his son's safe return. “The search has been called off for the night, bringing the boat with sonar in the morning. A friend gave me these words! We are trying to think of a scenario where he is still alive. Hoping against the odds. We can't even stand to think about it. We are devastated. Only God & time can put us back together. Love all!”
