Former Miss Ukraine Anna Zaiachkivska is making headlines these days. “I am at peace,” Anna says. “I breathe freely when I walk down the street.” Zaiachkivska’s husband Gianluca Cervara is a wealthy businessman in Milan. It was reported that Gianluca was shocked to learn that his missing wife was living in New York.

According to Gianluca, Anna had gone out for a breath of fresh air and never came home — and that he feared the worst. However, Anna’s side of the story reveal some different anecdotes. “He knew where I was,” says Anna. She claimed that she left her husband a letter and later also called to say she was in New York.

Anna said she left to save her life. “If I stayed, he would kill me — if not physically, then my spirit.” Gianluca denied all the rumours and accused her of stealing $7,000 and a cellphone. Anna got married to Gianluca on 22nd December 2015, and in less than a month of their marriage Anna claimed that her husband used to “beat” her.

The beauty queen had just moved to Milan to pursue a modeling career, walking the runway for Armani and posing for campaigns for Ralph Lauren and Tod’s. She says that Cervara worked for Geox shoes, but she was never clear on what exactly he did. “He threw the lobster against the wall and the rest of the food in the toilet. He grabbed me by the neck and threw me on the floor,” says Anna. “I married this man, but I knew nothing about him,” she concluded.

In another incident, Anna mentioned “He grabbed my cross [pendant] so hard that the chain ripped, then [he] spit in my face.” Anna recalls another incident and says, “I told him I felt sick and needed to lie down. He chased me out of the room. I was thinking, ‘This person treats me like a dog.’ I knew I couldn’t stay.”

Anna was crowned Miss Ukraine 2013 and represented the country at the Miss World 2013 pageant, making it to the Top 20 finalists. Below is the video of Anna’s allegation against her husband...
