Gargee Nandy, making North-East proud, has won Miss India Global 2020 crown at the pageant held in Goa last week. She will now represent India at Miss Global to be held in 2021. The stunner dreams of becoming Miss Universe in the future.

Gargee has become the first to win this competition as a Meghalaya contestant. On winning the national title, she commented, “In the national level competition, there is a section where one has to showcase the culture of one’s own state where I wore the traditional costumes of Meghalaya. The judges considered me a winner and this was the best moment of my life. This is not just a title but a responsibility and there is a lot of work to be done to keep my words I said on stage. Hopefully, with this title, I will be able to get closer to the woman of my state and talk about their problems.”

Gargee’s court included Khushboo Singh of Madhya Pradesh, Esha Velankar of Maharashtra, Amisha Tirke of Chhatisgarh and Nikita Pote of Goa who were adjudged first, second, third and fourth runners-up respectively.

Gargee has had an opportunity to travel a lot since her childhood. Her father worked for the government and her mother runs a small business helping women through it. After higher secondary, Gargee moved to Bangalore for studying Mass Communication where she was introduced to fashion.

The stunner has already received an offer from the South film industry in her country but she wants to focus on her pageant career for now. Gargee loves to study as well as play tennis and has played state level mixed doubles in Tripura. She will definitely be a strong contender for the international crown next year.

Congratulations!
