Miss Indiana 2017 is Miss Metropolitan Haley Begay of Pittsboro. She is just 19 year old. Her personal platform is “Don’t Silence the Violence: Domestic Violence Awareness” and her talent is a vocal performance of “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen.
She will now compete at Miss America 2018 pageant to be held in Atlantic City on September 10th 2017. The event will be broadcast by the American Broadcasting Company (ABC). Miss America 2017 Savvy Shields from Arkansas will officially crown her successor.
Begay is a rising sophomore in the Media School, pursuing her graduation in Journalism. Brianna DeCamp, Miss Indiana 2016, passed her crown to Haley. She also graced the stage by signing off for the very last time.
Additionally, Haley won preliminary awards in Interview, Talent and Lifestyle rounds and also Fitness award in Swimsuit competition.
This year’s finals took place at the Zionsville Performing Arts Center after a week of pageant events, including the Miss Indiana Royal Brunch, a Lions Club of Zionsville Cookout and three days of preliminary competition.
