The esteem of beauty queens is par excellence to the Aussie fans. Recently, a Channel Seven Sports reporter, Hamish McLachlan received a massive backlash for hugging the Top 5 finalist of Miss Universe 2015, Miss Australia, Monika Radulovic on a television talk show. Monica is engaged to the renowned artist, Alesandro Ljubicic. The criticisms went so steaming on the social media that the reporter finally had to apologize for his act.
In the midst of her live cross at the Magic Millions race on the Gold Coast, Monica Radulovic at the ‘Weekend Sunrise’ show was found giggling as she expressed: “Hamish here does not want to leave my side, but what we’re talking about next is the...,” but before she could finish off her sentence she was interrupted as McLachlan embraced her into a hug. The beauty queen pushed him away and said, “Professional please, my goodness.” McLachlan was quite casual with her remark and joked “I’ll go, I’ll go,” as he jumped over a nearby fence.

McLachlan is a famous sports reporter for Channel Seven and an ambassador for the Magic Millions races. He also co-hosts AFL Game Day on Sunday mornings and commentates some AFL matches and Australian Open tennis games. After the show went on air the sunrise viewers lashed out on the program’s official Facebook handle.
McLachlan was found criticizing Chris Gayle the former night for reportedly flirting with a girl on the live show, hence, one of the viewer mocked at his double standard as he wrote: “How is what Hamish [sic] Mcglauchlan just did to the weather girl just then any different if not worse than what Chris Gayle did the other night?” Another viewer expressed his disgust saying: “I’m confused! One minute you guys are discussing Chris Gayle’s crappy behavior and the next you have some horse racing bloke copping a feel of your weather presenter!” Another viewer opined: “How disgusting. Just saw a female weather reporter grabbed and virtually groped by horse expert at [sic] Miracle Millions. Oh but the commentators laughed it off because it’s their organization; yet they call for Chris Gayle’s head. Channel 7 get real, hypocritical!!”
After the matter got serious, the reporter issued his apology as he stated: “I understand people have made stuff of it on social media and if I’ve offended anyone, I’m apologizing for that absolutely. But more importantly, I apologize if I’ve offended you [Radulovic]. I was trying to have fun and that is my fault if I’ve offended you.”
When asked to the Miss Universe Australia, if she was offended, Radulovic said: “Not at all. I’m so sorry as well guys. I did not think twice about it. Like Hamish said, we’re colleagues and friends and we were chatting just like we normally do off camera, and so nothing on my part ... I didn’t think anything of it.”
While the host, Edwina Bartholemew from the studio opined: “It’s all good Hamish, it’s all good Monica, we just wanted to address it.”
