Hannah Lopa won the title of Miss New York USA 2017 and is all set to represent Spencerport at the national pageant of Miss USA 2017. The state finale was held on January 15, 2017 at the Performing Arts Center at State University College at Purchase in Westchester County. Pleased on winning the crown, Lopa said, “It's a journey that began nine years ago. When I actually won, there weren't actually a lot of thoughts going on. I couldn't believe it. It was just; it went by so quickly that I almost had kind of a blackout on stage. And I had to come back down to earth and realize, oh my gosh what is on top of my head right now?”

Hannah Lopa is 25 years old from Rochester, New York and she is no stranger to pageantry. She won the title of Miss New York USA after 7 attempts, including 2 as a teen.

The beauty has dedicated all of her adolescence to studying various styles of dance and was a competitive dancer throughout her career. She continued her love for dance as a coach and dancer for professional sports teams in the Rochester community. Her background in dance and performance arts helped her to earn a character performer role at Disney World where she worked closely with the Make A Wish Foundation.

Lopa is a graduate and has earned a degree in Communications and Media Arts and during her time in college she was selected from thousands of applicants to participate in the Disney College Program.

The beautiful woman currently works as a sportscaster in the motorsports industry and has also been a brand ambassador and spokes-model representing national and international motorcycle brands. The delegate is an avid racing fan; she even learned to ride a motorcycle and hopes to earn her license one day.

Lopa loves to travel in her spare time and has visited 26 states last year. She is a fitness freak and hot yoga and hiking are her favorite ways to stay fit! During her reign as Miss New York USA, Hannah hopes to raise awareness on relationship abuse and domestic violence because of the abusive relationship she had been in. Competing for the title has played a pivotal role in her life and it has helped her overcome her abusive past in a positive way.

Participating in the pageant has given her the opportunity to find herself and regain confidence that was once stifled. She wants to show other women that they do not have to be limited by their circumstances and they can achieve anything they set out to do.

Lopa has been trying for the crown for years and has also competed twice in the Miss Teen New York USA before that. "Every year, for the last five years, I spend my birthday weekend doing something that I am so passionate about, meeting amazing women and truly having the time of my life. I know it sounds so cliche but I feel so lucky and so grateful for these memories and this experience!" she said.
