Wales is ready to find its next delegate for the Miss World 2018 pageant. The pageant is slated to take place on April 28, 2018. At the end of the Miss Wales pageant, the outgoing titleholder, Hannah Williams will be crowning her successor as the new Miss World Wales, who will then represent Wales at Miss World 2018 wherein Manushi Chhillar of India will crown her successor as next Miss World.
The Miss Wales competition has been going since the 1950’s and has been organised by Cardiff events company Vibe since 2004. In recent years, it has grown to become more popular than ever with around 1,000 women registering an interest in the competition each year.
The winner is automatically guaranteed a place at the most respected and established beauty contest in the world - Miss World, as the representative of Wales. She also wins an exciting package of prizes. In the last 10 years, the competition has also raised nearly £500,000 for children’s charities in Wales.

It has been more than 40 years since Miss Wales won the Miss World title. In 2012, Sophie Moulds from Ferndale was the first runner-up at Miss World, and that’s the closest Wales has gotten to winning the title since Helen Elizabeth Morgan in 1974.
The media interest in the competition is phenomenal. Each year, it features in the local, regional, national and specialist press and media. Vibe has also won a number of awards from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations for the event.
