Miss World crown always remained elusive to Philippines till Megan Young graced the Miss World stage, wearing the sash of the Pearl of Orient Seas. The long drought ended on 28’ September 2013 in Bali, Indonesia, when after lots of twirls and turns, Philippines finally managed to earn its first blue crown. Megan Young turned out not merely as the first Filipino woman to have claimed the title, but also ensnared the audience all over the globe, through her charm, charisma, queenly heart and vivacious smile. With her bubbly and lively giggle, Megan took the advocacy of Beauty with a Purpose to yet another striking level.
Belonging from the beauty training camp of Aces and Queens, Megan Young took the hopes and dreams of Filipino to another level. The ignition of dreams and anticipations happened yet again, when the Miss World Philippines organization crowned a nursing graduate and freelance model, Hillarie Danielle Ang Parungao as the next representative to Miss World 2015 edition, slated to be held in Sanya, China, the coming December. Hillarie belongs to the same beauty training camp, Aces and Queens, which have resulted in tumultuous performance of Philippines at Miss World and Miss Universe lately. The 24 years old, gorgeous lady, was the country’s representative for last year’s Miss Asia Pacific World pageant where she finished as third runner-up. The international exposure which Hillarie gained at Miss Asia Pacific pageant perceptibly served her in good stead as she earned another shot at representing the Philippines this time for the bigger platform.
During the national pageant, Miss World Philippines 2015, Hillarie won nine special awards, namely, Best in Sports Challenge, Best in Fashion Runway, Best in Swimsuit, Best in Long Gown, Miss Zen Institute, Miss Technomarine, Miss Solaire, Miss Figlia, and Miss Phoenix. During the question and answer portion for the Top 5 segment, Hillarie was asked what her philosophy is in life. She answered that her philosophy “always relies on compassion.” "I believe that compassion can open doors to many challenges in life... I also believe that in compassion, we get to understand other people, and in understanding other people we become a better society."

Miss World has various levels of assessing the delegates, multimedia round, talent round, beauty with a purpose round, sports round, top model round and interview round are few to mention. Since the day, Hillarie was crowned, she gracefully took over the official social media handle of Miss World Philippines. The substantial and engaging contents shared by her and the team are not only eye catching but quite impressive, engaging as well as entertaining. She is supposedly leading the Multimedia segment as of now. Being a model since a long time, Hillarie is expected to give a commanding performance at the Top Model Round, and we won’t be surprised if she wins the fastrack event like Megan Young did in Miss World 2013. Hillarie’s Beauty with a Purpose project will decide the destiny of her journey at Miss World, and our eyes are totally waiting to see its first glimpse.

Hillarie’s eloquent persona, charismatic body language and outgoing personality reflects that she is certainly an upgrade from her predecessor, Valerie Weigmann, but will she take the only Filipina Miss World, Megan Young’s legacy forward, only time will tell.
