Tanja is one of the most accomplished pageant veterans, Iceland has discovered. She began her pageant journey in 2013 when she was crowned as Miss Iceland 2013. Tanja has competed at four international pageants, and in most of the pageants she has been adjudged as runner up, falling just an inch short of crown.
Tanja Ýr Ástþórsdóttir, proudly represented her nation at Miss World 2014 in London, on 14’ December 2014. Though Tanja made the cut to sports fastrack event, she was unable to secure a spot in quarter finals during the coronation gala. Tanja, expressing her thoughts over the Miss World venture narrated: “I was just called and invited to join. I thought it was an exciting opportunity and I knew I would learn a lot from this.”
Later, in 2015 Tanja returned back to pageantry with a bang and went to represent Iceland at Miss Grand Universe 2015, wherein she not only won the Miss Photogenic title but was also acknowledged as the Second Runner Up. In late December, the dazzling beauty represented Iceland at Miss Supranational 2015 whereby she placed as Third runner-up. The hazel eyes and gorgeous demeanor won million hearts during the coronation gala as the beautiful Tanja struuted in a ball gown at the runway. Her performance in both swimsuit and evening gown was terrific and she stole million heartbeats as she graced magnificently on the finale stage.
The pageant fanatics all around the globe were yet again spellbound with her glorious beauty when Tanja confirmed her participation at Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International 2015. The beautiful diva was flawless in her performance during the coronation night and she was yet again crowned as the Third Runner Up winning the title of Miss Tourism Cosmopolitan International and the subtitle of Miss Tropicana Lifestyle.
While the beauty queen every time has missed her aim with just a few inches, we believe Tanja has a long way to go! She is a well known fashion blogger and model back at home, and is much loved for her mesmerizing aura in Iceland. Iceland’s pageant record is quite well in the bygone era as it has three Miss World winners and one Miss Universe winner. The country is yet to win Miss Earth and Miss International.
