The pageant community, with great sorrow, shares the passing away of our beloved Jackie Loughery who made history as the first ever woman to be crowned Miss USA in 1952. She also became the first ever representative of USA at Miss Universe and placed in the Top 10.

Miss USA organization also announced her passing in a post as they remembered her fondly as a trailblazer. “Jackie Loughery will always be remembered as a trailblazer in the world of beauty pageants. Her grace, poise, and intelligence captivated audiences and paved the way for future generations of women to shine on the stage”, they wrote.

“As the very first Miss USA in 1952, she left an indelible mark on the pageant world and inspired countless individuals to pursue their dreams fearlessly. Our thoughts are with her loved ones during this time, and may they find comfort in the memories of her extraordinary life. She is reunited with her fur babies that she loved so much”, the organization added.

Jackie, after her reign, acted in multiple films including the comedy films Pardners with Martin and Lewis in 1956 and the drama The D.I. with Jack Webb in 1957. Later next year, Jackie married her co-star, Jack Webb. She also made an appearance on various tv shows and reality shows.

Even though Jackie will not be here, her legacy will follow her name for the rest of eternity.
