Guatemala has chosen three of its representatives to the Big4 pageants on Sunday night, September 20, 2015.
Jeimmy Aburto, who belongs to Ciudad Capital Sur was titled as Miss Guatemala 2015, beating 11 other contenders for the right to embody the country in the upcoming Miss Universe pageant.
María José Larrañaga of Depto Guatemala was crowned Miss Mundo Guatemala 2015 and will vie in the Miss World contest to be held on December 19 in Sanya, China.
Chiquimula’s Saida Jerónimo was crowned the Miss International Guatemala 2015 and will set off to Tokyo, Japan for the Miss International beauty pageant.
Guatemala has competed in Miss Universe contest only thrice. The initial placement was attained in 1955 by María del Rosario Molina Chacón where she was amongst the Top 15 competitors. The second placement was in the year 1984 by Ilma Julieta Urrutia Chang where she was in Top 10. The third and last placement was accomplished by Guatemala in 2010 when Jessica María Scheel Noyola made to the Top 10 finalist.
