Davis, 23, was crowned as Miss Missouri 2017 on Saturday night at the Missouri Military Academy gymtorium in mid-Missouri’s Mexico after a four-day competition. Determination, hard work and never giving up attitude paid off for Miss Jackson Jennifer Davis at the Miss Missouri Pageant.
She now advances to the Miss America 2018 pageant which will held in Atlantic City on September 10. The event will be broadcast by the American Broadcasting Company (ABC). Miss America 2017 Savvy Shields from Arkansas will officially crown her successor.
She began competing at the age of 19 and last year she was the first runner-up at the Miss Missouri Pageant. “It was all worth it. I feel so blessed and humble and I never gave up on my dream,” she said. She performed Bollywood dance in her talent round.
She further said, “My brother, who is my absolute best friend, is gay. He gets stared at on the street just because of the way he was born. And that infuriates me, honestly. So this is something that is so personal to me, something that I have lived my entire life promoting and just being who I am and loving every moment of that. I want others to do that for everyone as well.”
Davis also said that her family provided inspiration for her cause.
